Welcome to our Senior School

At St John’s Senior College we aim to promote a cooperative environment that will foster the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, self-reliance and a sense of self-worth that will enable students to maximise their potential.

The College provides challenging and holistic educational experiences that inspire individual excellence and global citizenship. Our culture is one of mutual respect and trust and the relationship between staff, students and parents reflects our commitment towards helping students develop their self-esteem and individuals to strive for their personal best.

We aim to develop students who will become men and women of conscience and compassion, who will make a difference in our community and lead by example and deeds.

For the first two years in Senior School, students are taught by experienced VCE teachers, exposing growing minds to the complexities of a demanding and diverse curriculum. Our Pastoral Care program supports their moral and social development.

In the middle years of secondary education, Years 9 and 10, our students consolidate the skills they have learned previously. During this period, emphasis is placed on developing each student’s individual talents, self-discipline and organisational skills in preparation for entry into our VCE program.

In Years 11 and 12, students undertake the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). The College offers a broad selection of VCE subjects which allows each student to develop and pursue existing passions, and set up pathways that lead to numerous university and career opportunities.

Sports, Arts, Music and Life skills are also very much part of the Senior School experience.
