Dear St John’s College Community,

Today we welcomed Ms Rania El-Sheikh to our community. Ms El-Sheikh is a very talented teacher who will be working across the English, Math and Science learning areas. We are very fortunate to have Ms El-Sheikh join our school; she expressed her delight at the warm welcome she received today. On Monday we welcome Mr Nikos Bogiannidis who is our new Digital Learning Specialist. Mrs Judy Petch is pleased to hand reporting to Mr Bogiannidis – thank you Mrs Petch for your support with our reporting processes; we are pleased you will be continuing on to coordinate the teacher professional learning program.

This week we had a whole school liturgy and it was absolutely lovely to see the students behaving so respectfully throughout the service.  We also had students chanting and assisting as altar boys. We are very fortunate to have Mrs Giannos and Ms Krikelis as our Orthodoxy teachers and appreciate their commitment to supporting the spiritual growth of the students.

The term is half way over and we are moving toward exams and semester reporting. Mrs Sarigianoglou organised ELEVATE education sessions for Senior students; there are also parent modules available to assist parents support their children engage in study and learning at home. We encourage parents to engage with this program.

The Life Education Van visited the Junior School this week; this is an important opportunity for the students to learn about health and nutrition. Thanks again to Ms Krikelis for organising this incursion program.

There are many events taking place next week – please check the College calendar on the website as well as the SEQTA notice board.

Please remember to purchase your tickets to the FAMILY DINNER DANCE ON JUNE 11TH via Spriggy. There are prizes for the students who sell the most raffle tickets; thank you families for your support.

I wish everyone a very happy weekend.

God Bless,

Mrs Anna Urban
Principal
